How do you pronounce your name and what rhymes with it?

My name is pronounced A-KAY-see-yah. Four syllables. I haven't come across anything that rhymes with it, though Anastasia might come close if you squint your eyes during the full moon.
 

Where have you lived?

Born in Birmingham, AL and raised mostly in the US, I've lived in Savannah, New Jersey, Germany, Virginia, Atlanta, the Tri-Cities and Puget Sound regions of Washington, Bahrain, Spain and now North Carolina.
 

What is your favorite travel destination? What’s on your bucket list?

Any place with great food, so I guess that’s everywhere I've been. I’d love to revisit South Africa, Lisbon and Paris. New Zealand, Peru and Ghana are currently at the top of my bucket list.

what’s it like going from BEING a Military Kid to Mil-SPOUSE and now MilMOM?

Well, I'm pretty seasoned in the art of transitions, travel and quickly adapting. I was like that before my husband joined the military. I'm pretty open minded, restless after 3 years in one place and make friends easily. So, no major difference except now I know what my mom went through as she raised me and my sister, and now I’ll be able to guide my daughter through the ups and downs of the life ahead.

What are you working on?

Writing, motherhood and life in the middle of a global pandemic. This is what I’m up to NOW.
